G'day, badass women!!
Request for support/advice/coaching for leaving corporate.
I'm making progress on getting out of corporate and becoming a FT entrepreneur. Just fired myself from two more contract staff positions! Turns out I have an extremely multi-passionate vision for supporting my family and parents and I love being the visionary. Issue is, I have more ideas for how to do this than I can shake a stick at and corporate didn't train me for how to do this for myself... 🤪
Which is both exciting and terrifying.
I want to put together 2 main things first (to give myself a plan to work towards) and not sure where to start.
Financial road map. How do I draw up a realistic financial plan/runway with realistic growth targets? I feel like I'm 100% winging it. I want a clear plan and path to replacing my income. How much do I pay myself vs reinvest in bootstrapped business growth? Are there other options I'm not thinking of?
Strategic alignment. How do I structure a multi-LLC (think product biz + 3PL + write a book(s) + service business) long game? How do I pick where to start? What entity pays another and which one(s) pay(s) me?
Also very open to feedback for what I'm forgetting to ask in this process.
Keeping in mind 3 small children and the breadwinner currently. Partner is a commissioned sales rep, and also an engineer, so the "just take the leap" approach creates some HUGE anxiety. Also the desire to fix up a house into a home has huge mental weight, so we question if it's better to stay in corporate for the cash to do that sooner than later or if there's be more cash running solo. 🤔
I think there's some kind of life/financial/business coach that would come into play here, but not sure how or when. 🧐
Hi Jillian, first - CONGRATULATIONS!!! I left the corporate executive world after almost 20 years last October and started my own business in January this year. These are the conversations I love and breathe for. Please let me know if you’d like to set up time with me, I’d love to help.
Hi Jillian! I think I may be able to help you here. And fortunately I’m also in the Denver metro area. My background in finance and accounting has been peppered with helping lots of entrepreneurs doing exactly what you are. If you’d like to check it out and see if we might be a fit, my website is beckilogsdon.com. I’d be happy to meet if you’re interested.
