I am currently looking for my next thing. For the first time in my life, I am part of a massive layoff. If you or anyone in your network needs a VP to lead public or government affairs, please let me know. Here's a bit more about me:
I have 20 years of experience in public policy, community engagement and public affairs.
I started my career as a 4th and 5th-grade teacher in rural Louisiana. My children lived in one of the poorest, most economically disadvantaged areas of the state. The system was designed for them to fail. So I went to get my Master's in public policy to change the way our systems treat the most important part of our country- our kids.
I have worked in state government (working for the Senate Majority leader), as a contract lobbyist at a law firm, the director of the government and community affairs department at the state's largest children's hospital and as VP for the nation's leading provider of teletherapy for children with special needs and mental health issues.
I am an advocate by birth and by profession. It's just who I am. And I will always go to the mat to ensure that ALL our kids, families and mothers, have what they need to thrive because so many of them don't.
I'm a mom of two: A super sweet, empathetic and wise beyond his years, 12 YO who loves lacrosse, being in nature and taking care of his mom. And a fierce, smart, bulldogish 7 YO who is going to run this world one day. And I cannot WAIT to see what she does.
