Hello ladies! I am looking for any connections that this group might have at the Brookings Institute, particularly at their Center for Universal Education. My daughter is about to graduate from her masters in education policy program at Harvard, and has applied to a role there.
Alternately, if anyone has contacts within like-minded organizations, please do reach out. Amaya is most interested in education equity, and is seeking a role where she can be impactful in making education more equitable, inclusive, and effective for all (heaven knows we need it). She previously worked for an organization funded by Melinda Gates that seeks to create greater equity in tech for underrepresented groups, including women, people of color and non-binary folks. Her background is Econ, sociology, research analysis and policy.
Thanks for any contacts or thoughts you may have!
Ola
She applied to two roles at CUE: Impact Manager (and) Project Coordinator & Research Analyst.
@Erin Gallagher - that's amazing! Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you - my week was... well, you know. You're a working Mom too.
It looks like this guy is actually some kind of advisor to the very division within the Brookings Institute that Amaya is most interested in - the Center for Universal Education, or CUE - which is super cool.
If you're willing to do an intro via LinkedIn, that would be amazing. I think, though, that the best thing would be if you'd be willing to make the intro directly to Amaya (my daughter), not to me. While we Moms will always be in their corner trying to help them launch, it's probably better if it doesn't look that way. 😉
If you're willing, here's Amaya's linkedin, so you can connect Nathan directly to her: https://www.linkedin.com/in/amayalessard/
Thank you SO much. The Brookings Institute is absolutely a dream organization for her; she's been studying education reform since she was in middle school, as odd as that may sound! She'd love to land someplace that's sincerely trying to make it better.

I have one connection (see screenshot). I don’t know him personally but am happy to connect you over LinkedIn. ❤️
